MY PERSONAL OPINION OF “KILLERS OF A CERTAIN AGE” by Deanna Raybourn
I got the book from my local library and I was super excited when I saw the book as this book has been in my TBR for a long time. which I really enjoyed. I remember all the buzz this book got when it was published and there is. a second book for the same series.
This book was a great read. It was funny, fast paced, emotional, with all the extra that a thriller brings to a plot. I enjoyed the characters, their long history together as. band of assassins (first all women assassins team), the lead character was good, strong, honest, and crazy at the same time. I enjoyed listening to her and her team stories.
The best way to describe the book is hilarious and entertaining and really that is exactly what my expectation was so it was a good solid read for me.
I recommend this book if you want a suspense thriller in which the main characters are group of sixty-something women with a 30 year experience being the best team assassin. I truly enjoyed this book.
PREMISE OF THE BOOK AS FOUND IN AMAZON / GOODREADS:
Billie, Mary Alice, Helen, and Natalie have worked for the Museum, an elite network of assassins, for forty years. Now their talents are considered old-school and no one appreciates what they have to offer in an age that relies more on technology than people skills.
When the foursome is sent on an all-expenses paid vacation to mark their retirement, they are targeted by one of their own. Only the Board, the top-level members of the Museum, can order the termination of field agents, and the women realize they’ve been marked for death.
Now to get out alive they have to turn against their own organization, relying on experience and each other to get the job done, knowing that working together is the secret to their survival. They’re about to teach the Board what it really means to be a woman—and a killer—of a certain age.
MY RATING:
My rating for this book is a solid 4.7
