MY PERSONAL OPINION OF “TINY DAGGERS” BY CAROLINE CORCORAN

I got the book from the monthly prime new release selection. Its been a while since I have read a thriller (especially a psychological thriller), and the premise of the book sounded fun. I though the cover look fun as well, with young hand, nails and the bright pink in the background. I needed a weekend read and this book did the trick.

The book was good. It was a solid thriller, and you can feel the twist coming along towards the end as you try to put the pieces together and come to understand the characters, their past, their behavior, their traumas, and their personalities.
I was not the biggest fan of the setting (Miami, high-maintenance women, with mansions, and a lifestyle that is not my cup of tea), but it was the right background for the story.

The last 25% of the book was twist after twist after twist… but I was happy about it. Some of it I saw coming, and some of it was a complete surprise. I kept thinking this would be a great movie… or series… it was fun, out loud, with alcoholic brunches, and gym workouts at 8:00 pm although you have kids in the house. It was good.

PREMISE OF THE BOOK AS FOUND IN AMAZON / GOODREADS:

Expat Holly Jones has built the perfect life for herself in an exclusive area of Miami: the beautiful house, the enviable family. So the last person she expects to bump into one morning is a ghost from her old life in London, someone she hasn’t seen in over twenty years: the other Holly, Holly Wild.

Single, sexy, and a world away from the frumpy sidekick she was at school, Holly Wild quickly becomes an unavoidable part of Holly Jones’s life. She is everywhere—in her home, in her marriage, and especially in her head. Is this really just a chance reunion or is there something more sinister lurking behind her seemingly flawless facade?

As the oppressive heat intensifies, Holly Jones is haunted by memories she’s spent decades trying to bury. Is she being paranoid or is Holly Wild really out to steal her life? At school they were known as Good Holly and Bad Holly…but as their twisted game of cat and mouse escalates, it’s no longer clear which one is which…

MY RATING:

Rating: 4 out of 5.

My rating for this book is 4.0 out of 5!, This book was FUN to read. I think the last 25% pumped the book to a solid 4.0… otherwise would be a 3.5.
