New Book Releases: April 28, 2026

Hello friends! With so many books coming out every week, I am bringing you a list of 5 new releases that I want to read and that will be published during the last week of April. Let me know which books interest you or if I am missing a new release you are excited about… We can always grow our TBR!.

I tried to pick books that made me curious and at the same time were different genres, so hopefully one of these books catches your attention.

The Radiant Dark: a Novel by Alexandra Oliva
LITERARY FICTION

It’s March 1980, and Carol Girard and her husband are living an ordinary life in a small town in the Adirondacks. They have just had their first child, and though Carol is struggling with the challenges of new motherhood, her future seems clear. Until something extraordinary happens: an inexplicable flickering of light in the sky, which is ultimately determined to be communication from intelligent life on another planet. But these beings are eleven light-years away, and nothing is known about them other than the fact that they seem to know we exist too. And so begins a decades-long exchange of messages with this mysterious, faraway civilization.

Molka by Monika Kim
HORROR

Dahye can’t believe her luck when she finds herself in a whirlwind romance with handsome, charismatic Hyukjoon, the heir to a multi-million dollar fortune.

But then a shocking revelation threatens: the couple has been caught on a spycam amid Korea’s growing molka epidemic, and the video is all over the internet. When Hyukjoon flees the country to avoid the intense public scrutiny, Dahye is left to grapple with the ramifications on her own; and the demons from her childhood, long dormant, begin to surface.

I read Monika Kim debut’s novel The Eyes are the Best Part, and loved it so I am looking forward to reading this one!

We Burned So Bright by TJ Klune
SCIENCE FICTION

Husbands Don and Rodney have lived a good long life. Together they’ve experienced the highest highs of love and family, and lows so low that they felt like the end of the world. Now, the world is ending for real. A wandering black hole is coming for Earth and in a month everything and everyone they’ve ever known will be gone.

Suddenly, after 40 years together, Don and Rodney are out of time. They’re in a race against the clock to make it from Maine to Washington State to take care of some unfinished business before it’s all over. On the road they meet those who refuse to believe death is coming and those who rush to meet it. But there are also people living their final days as best they know how—impromptu weddings, bright burning bonfires, shared meals, and new friends.

The Island Club: a Novel. by Nicola Harrison
HISTORICAL FICTION

Set against the sun-drenched beaches of Balboa Island, with its prim and proper 1950s facade, The Island Club is a story of love, loneliness and the lies we tell ourselves―and what can be gained when the truth is finally revealed.

Dogs, Boys, and Other Things I’ve Cried About
MEMOIR

In this honest and moving memoir, Isabel weaves together the stories of her foster dogs—and the challenges she helped them overcome—with tales of complicated relationships, hard decisions, and great loves in New York City, all leading to a happy ending not only for the rescue pups, but for Isabel herself.

So there you have it! This is my short list of books that caught my attention being released this week. Let me know if any of these made it to your TBR or if you pre-ordered or you are getting ready to get it!.
